Rebellion and the flight from a dystopian world deprived of books in Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451

tocOne of the main themes of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 is the rebellion and flight from a dystopian world deprived of books. I want to discuss this statement in three parts: Firstly I define the dystopia of which the protagonist is fleeing and discuss the variety of the allotopian genre. Secondly I analyse the story level of rebellion and flight. The last chapter sketches the symbolic subtext of books and its context to the rebellion.
